Bayonne - October 2021

In early October 2021, our oldest students (aged 14) went to the Archives Office in Bayonne.

They discovered the job of archivist but above all, they worked on WWI from local archives. So, they learnt about what the Basque soldiers told about their life in the tranches in the North of France and about theirdaily life during the first world war.

They also focussed on the different war monuments (where it is traditional to gather on November 11th and May 8th) and on what these places teach us about the Great War. 

The pupils could fully realize that traditional events and historical landmarks actually shape our culture.
